Examines potential distributional effects of the alternative minimum tax (AMT), including taxpayers subject to the AMT in 2008 if the current basic AMT exemption reverts to its previous levels; and discusses reasons why taxpayers with incomes over $500,000 may not be as adversely affected by AMT as lower-income taxpayers still subject to the AMT.
