- Summary
- Journalist Mike Baker talks to the DCSF's Director of Local Transformation, Peter Lauener about the complexities of Children's Trusts, charged with delivering children's services at a local level. Everyone knows that they ought to understand their local Children's Trust's modus operandi, but most are put off by the jargon and myriad layers of local authority structures. This programme provides a user friendly guide through the maze. It also looks at how these services are accessed by a south London school located in a challenging area. The leitmotifs of Children's Trusts are to encourage joined-up thinking and practice, and we see how managers, heads and a behavioural specialist work together to monitor and improve outcomes for their pupils.
