- Summary
- This monograph grew out of a March 1998 symposium on inverse modeling held in Crete, and is appropriate for advanced courses in biogeochemical cycle modeling. The 14 research papers on the latest developments in the theory and use of inverse methods and data assimilation complement the eight tutorials on adjoint, Green's function, and Kalman filtering methods. Topics covered include carbon dioxide source/sink estimation, atmospheric chemistry, physical oceanography, ocean biogeochemistry, and satellite data mapping. The CD-ROM of exercises requires MATLAB and Fortran- 77 or Fortran-90. No index. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR.
