Summary
Maclovio Barraza describes early labor organizations among copper miners in New Mexico, and the communities of mine workers. He discusses the AFL's affiliation with the Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers Union, and his position as board member. He also discusses organizational rivalries between the Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers Union and the United Steelworkers of America, and events leading up to the merger in 1967.
