- Summary:
- Based on Powder Metallurgy techniques, a process to fabricate Nb-Nb/sub 3/(Al,Si) multifilamentary superconducting wire has been developed. Optimum sintering and infiltration parameters are listed and the methods of mechanical reduction to wire form are described. Preliminary data indicate that diffusion reaction temperatures as low as 850/sup 0/C form the A15 superconducting compound Nb/sub 3/(Al,Si).
