Summary:

The Department of Energy's responsibilities in implementing President Carter's National Energy Plan include identifying the appropriate role of educational activities and institutions in that work. This study describes educational activities as they existed one year after the creation of the Department of Energy. Educational activities of educational institutions are included in the study, with the deliberate exception of the very substantial research activity conducted by universities. This report is intended to assist DOE program managers in the utilization of educational process in their operations and to provide guidance and informaion to the public about the Department's educational activities.
