Actions for Trends in atmospheric particulate concentrations at a location in the northeast United States. [Rural area near New York City] [electronic resource].
Real-time measurements of total particulate concentrations have been made continuously during the past two years to provide aerometric background information for correlation with meteorological parameters. The measurements were made to determine short and long time variations, frequency distributions, episodical information, effects on solar radiation and spectral analysis to show important time histories in a rural area near the New York City metropolitan region. This study provides useful background data for a much larger program related to emission control practices and trends in air quality in the Northeast United States. Ultimately, these and data from other specific locations will be incorporated in models to describe the transport and transformation of particulate and gaseous concentrations over regional distances.
