- Summary
- The objectives of the Project, in support of the overall goal to stimulate development of geothermal energy, are as follows: (1) Demonstrate reservoir performance characteristics of a specific liquid-dominated hydrothermal reservoir. (2) Demonstrate the validity of reservoir engineering estimates of reservoir productivity (capability and longevity). (3) Demonstrate a conversion system technology at commercial scale. (4) Initiate development of a resource of large potential. (5) Act as a ''pathfinder'' for the regulatory process and other legal and institutional aspects of geothermal development. (6) Provide a basis for the financial community to estimate the risks and benefits associated with geothermal investments. (7) Demonstrate social and economic acceptability and the readiness of state-of-the-art technology for producing electric power from a liquid-dominated hydrothermal resource.
