- Summary:
- A metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) process for the growth of crystalline-as-deposited cerium doped calcium thiogallate (CaGa₂S₄:Ce) at substrate temperatures less than 600°C has been developed. Blue-green electroluminescence was observed with a luminance of ≈ 2 cd/m² at 40 volts above threshold using 60 Hz drive frequency. Threshold voltages were approximately 200 V.
