- The image is a three-quarter profile head and shoulders shot of Lucy Larcom wearing a bonnet. Larcom writes to Mrs. C. S. Guild, 9 June 1871, thanking her for her kindness, doesn't remember a rejected manuscript at "Our young folks" magazine when she worked there, remarks about kind words from her deceased friend, and inquires about her familiarity with a hymn. Also, includes an original signed manuscript poem, first line: "Hand in hand with angels" (Boston, April 1882), and an autograph on a scrap of paper.
