Summary:
An overview of the 18 independent parameters of the standard SU(3)/sub c/ x SU(2)/sub L/ x U(1) model is given. Neutral current phenomenology and sin/sup 2/ theta/sub W/, W/sup +-/ and Z/sup 0/ masses, and testing the great desert hypothesis are discussed. The need for precise measurements in elementary particle physics is emphasized. (WHK)
