A summary of the analysis of a neutron streaming experiment performed at the ORNL Tower Shielding Facility in 1975 is presented. The experiment was performed in support of the GCFR shield design effort to determine if design methods were adequate to calculate the radiation sources which would have to be shielded against. The experiment was analyzed with two-dimensional (2-D) discrete ordinates and Monte Carlo methods. The 2-D results for homogeneous and heterogeneous models of the pin array bracketed the measured results, but large discrepancies between the models occurred for detector angles less than 2.5/sup 0/ from the pin array axis. The Monte Carlo results showed much improvement over the 2-D results, yet these still deviated greatly from the measured results.
