- Tsar Saltan marries Militrissa, the youngest of three sisters. Prince Guidon is born, the jealous sisters send the Tsar a message that Militrissa gave birth to a monster. The Tsar orders mother and son to be put out to sea. On a desert island, Guidon grows up to be a magician and a hero. Helped by a swan, Guidon sneaks into the Tsar's palace. The swan turns into a princess, Guidon falls in love, Militrissa forgives the Tsar and pleads for her sisters.
