- Summary:
- A Hindu man and a Muslim woman marry against the wishes of their families. They have twin children, and live happily in the cosmopolitan city of Mumbai. However, when Hindus destroy a Muslim temple, interfaith rioting wracks the city, and the family is separated, with the twins seized by rioters who demand to know their religion and pour petrol on their skin. Only when ordinary citizens stand up to end the fighting is the family safely reunited.
