This edition is among the first Italian books of Tangrams, ancient Chinese geometric dissection puzzles, in which a square is divided into seven standard shapes--five triangles, a square and a rhomboid--which a player must then recombine to form various flat shapes given only in outline or silhouette. These shapes often take the form of animals, human figures, letters, numbers, boats, vases, bridges, cups, etc ... leading some to term tangrams the earliest psychological test in the world. - Source of Acquisition
