- Summary:
- During the period 4-6 December 1991, three distinct and separate cirrus cloud systems were observed to move over the FIRE Cirrus-II field site at Coffeyville (COF) in southeastern Kansas. Meteorological analyses of the first and third events are presented here. These cases were well-sampled by the regional rawinsonde network, highly instrumented aircraft, and extensive ground-based remote sensors at COF. Our analyses are primarily based on the rawinsonde observations. Unfortunately, the intervening event was not well-observed by the regional rawinsonde network.
