Sponsored by North American Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (NACOTA); Beijing University of Technology; Transportation and Development Institute of ASCE; Transportation Research Board Committee on Transportation in Developing Countries; National Natural Science foundation of China. This collection of 444 papers focuses on ways meet the needs of urban transportation systems in a capacity that is environmentally sound, socially equitable, and economically viable. In the last two decades, many large cities in China have experienced rapid urban sprawl, which has been resulted in extensive expansion and motorization of the cities.
