Summary
The shelters illustrated in this paper are basement type reinforced concrete structures designed to provide protection against the effects of megaton range nuclear weapons. Typical designs for three schools with capacities of 350, 550, and 1,100 persons for each of the three incident overpressure levels of 5, 25 and 50 psi are presented herein.
