Magnetar bursts were first recorded in 1979, although mistaken as a subclass of softer Gamma Ray Bursts at the time. Thirty five years later, we have 23 confirmed magnetar sources and 5 more that are awaiting acceptance to this exclusive group. I will give a brief overview of the field today and report on the results of the last 10 years of magnetars, and in particular the successful synergy between Swift and Fermi/Gamma Ray burst Monitor (GBM) in identifying new sources.
