Describes provisions of the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea relating to living marine resources, and examines how these provisions relate to current U.S. marine policy. Discusses conservation and exploitation, straddling and transboundary fish stocks, highly migratory species, marine mammals, sea turtles, anadromous stocks, catadromous and sedentary species, fishing access to high seas, access by disadvantaged nations, marine habitat protection, and dispute settlement for living resources.
