Addresses selection and confirmation process for U.S. circuit and district court judges, in light of recent Senate debates over degree of success of President Obama nominees in gaining Senate confirmation, relative prevalence of vacant judgeships compared to years past, and effect of delayed judicial appointments on judicial vacancy levels. Provides statistics on all nominations and confirmations to U.S. circuit and district court judgeships during the first six years of Obama Presidency, and compares these numbers and confirmation rates to those of three most recent two-term predecessors. Includes tables and graphs.
