Edmund G. Joseph received letters from newspaper editors in Philadelphia for The Press, The North American, and Philadelphia Inquirer concerning his contributing sports and other local news from State College; and from his uncle Julius L. Gutman in New York and the general stage director of the New York Hippodrome theater about his patented process of making smoke rings pop from water.
