- Note
- "Waves was conceived as a collaboration between [the] poet ... and [the] artists ... The silverprint photographs by Lindbloom, taken of the Atlantic Ocean near Truro, Massachusetts, were made first ... The poems by Willard came next and were ... printed letterpress by Nelle Martin ... Burgess designed the book and created the etchings, with thoughts of the Pacific Ocean, in response to the forms found in the photographs. ... Willard and Burgess paired the poems with the images. Kelly responded to all of them and created the woodcuts, which appear at the beginning and end of the book. They were printed by spoon ... The tray case and folder were designed and made by Lisa Van Pelt. This book was published ... in an edition of 30 signed and numbered copies with three additional lettered copies."--Colophon.
Contains: eleven hand printed silverprint photographs, seven multi-plate etchings, two woodcuts, and six poems printed on handmade Twinrocker paper gathered in six loose folio triptychs and 2 loose folio double leaves.
