Summary:

Pushkin's dark tale of mistimed love and its tragic consequences inspired some of Tchaikovsky's most passionate and beautiful music. With James Levine at the helm, this impressive cast realizes every emotional nuance. Mirella Freni is at her most heartbreaking as Tatiana, the girl who falls in love for the first time, only to be coldly rejected by the sophisticated Onegin (Jorma Hynninen), who realizes his mistake far too late. Jerry Hadley is the sterling but hapless, Lenski.
