F. Scott Fitzgerald died before he could finish this novel [The Last Tycoon]... Its central character, the great film producer Monroe Stahr, is based on Irving Thalberg and, like Fitzgerald, is a desperately sick man, disenchanted with life, but striving still to work. This volume contains a fascinating synopsis of the conclusion of the novel put together from the author's notes.
