- Written by Alexandre Olivier Exquemelin. Exquemelin's original work, "De americaensche zee-roovers," Amsterdam, 1678, was translated into Spanish in 1681 and thence by an anonymous translator into English, London, W. Crooke, 1684. Raveneau de Lussan's A journal of a voyage ... was originally written in French.
