Business journal. Opens with an alphabetic index of local people with whom Strack traded. Includes handwritten contracts, including an order for telegraph poles for the Lebanon Valley Railroad. Includes names of town residents with dates and prices of services performed and goods sold.

"This book is the property of Christian Strack (Senior) in Jackson Township, Lebanon County, State of Pennsylvania, AD 1852"--Front pastedown.
Although Strack started the journal in 1852, he includes some business transactions from 1851.
Accompanying materials includes laid in slips of various sizes with notes and numbers, and several ink blotters.
Binding Information
Bound in quarter leather with marbled boards, abraded; spine decorated in gilt. "Christian Strack" written in ink on front cover, faded.
