- Provenance
- Pencil note on title page verso: "Found in Owen-Fitton home, New Harmony, Indiana, Constantine Rafinesque Schmaltz." "Owen-Fitton" is likely a reference to Frank Owen Fitton, who was active in preserving New Harmony history. The accuracy of the attribution to Constantine Rafinesque Schmaltz is possible but uncertain; Rafinesque visited New Harmony between 1825 and 1837, but was using the name Constantine Samuel Rafinesque (C.S.R.) at the time.
