George Bressler kept a diary of his travel to and activities in Philadelphia (5-12 February 1852) before sailing to California, and aboard the clipper ship Race Horse (15 February-20 March). His wife Eliza died on the ship and was buried at sea on 26 February. He records latitude and longitude locations and illnesses. Includes two poems by E.C. Topliff, Jamestown, N.Y., one on the death of Henry Froman, 20 March 1852, aboard ship.
