- This two-part program uses the backdrop of the evacuation and cleanup of the World Trade Center site to help employees and safety-team members understand the importance of emergency planning and evacuation drills. Part 1 shows how changes implemented after the 1993 bombing expedited the evacuation on September 11, 2001, and allowed more than 18,000 people to escape. Part 2 shows how a well-conceived emergency-action plan helped avoid the loss of thousands more lives at Ground Zero and how it assisted in the rescue and cleanup efforts.
