- Note
- "This translation is based on the official Spanish text published in the Gaceta Oficial, Year CXLVI, No. 10805, of 10 July 2015: http://www.consultoria.gov.do [consulted August 2015]. The Spanish text provided by the Senate of the Dominican Republic was also consulted: http://www.senado.gob.do [consulted August 2015]."--Title page verso.
"Editorial note. The drafters of the Constitution of 2010 made a concerted effort to eliminate gender discrimination in the text, making provision for the matter in Article 273. Many of the high offices of the State and of the Government are presented with both the feminine and masculine variants. Additionally, the order of the presentation of genders is frequently changed so as not to assert one more favorably or strongly over the other. These patterns have been duplicated in the translation here, even though English is gender neutral in many cases. The resulting translation may seem somewhat redundant or awkward, but reflects closely the intent of the original."--Title page verso.
