The collection consists of a handwritten fragment, tentatively dated 1848, of an essay or sketch titled, A walk with an organ grinder. The scene is set in London, and begins by observing London inhabitants lamenting recently-introduced street organs. Contains some corrections, including a lined out sentence, and pencilled paragraph marks.
