Summary
This meditative setting of Emily Dickinson’s poetry creates a beautiful, distant, and abstract atmosphere. The construction of the piece is an additive layering of repeating lines culminating in the full recitation of the short poem in the bass. The effect is both engaging and transportive. Simple to perform for just about any ensemble and a great opener to a concert.
Title from resource description page (viewed April 12, 2018). Lyrics based on the poem Love is anterior to life by Emily Dickinson. Includes program notes in English. For unaccompanied SSAATB chorus.
