- Three new mixed-metal cluster compounds containing tantalum and molybdenum were prepared and characterized by their electronic spectra, far infrared spectra, and magnetic properties. The compounds, derivatives of the Ta6Cl12n+ clusters, were formulated as (R4N)2.3(Ta5MoCl12)Cl6] and (R4N2(Ta4Mo2Cl12)Cl6].
