- Description: The US energy crisis. Restriction on gasoline sales. Rationing by coupons may become a necessity. President Nixon announces an Oil company tax proposal. US government raises price on domestically produced crude oil. Extensive cuts in Air services. President signs Daylight saving time bill. Report of Senator Edward M. Kennedy's address on energy in foreign policy in which he said that the US must prepare for rationing to meet the current fuel shortage and possible effects of a prolonged Arab oil embargo. Kennedy also urged for greater cooperation on energy matters between the US and both Europe and Japan. Report on Henry Kissinger's proposal of energy and the community including incentives to increase supply and long term supply contracts for crude.
