Summary:

Description: Written by Barrow at the age of 82, 'and without the aid of spectacles', the heavily-corrected manuscript and proofs recall a series of expeditions undertaken by officers of the British Royal Navy in the Arctic region, during the early nineteenth century. The volume includes descriptions of prominent explorers, navigational equipment, indigenous peoples, and life during expeditions.
