Many are records of key evidential value, being proof of the rights and privileges accorded to the Company by the monarch or by his or her ministers.;Dates '20 Charles II'. By this document Bombay, received by the Crown in 1661 as a dowry portion on the King's marriage to Catherine of Braganza, was granted to the Company, which also received powers of civil and military government on the island.A copy of this document can be found in IOR/A/1/20A.
