IOR/Z: Indexes to minutes of the East India Company's Court of Directors and to minutes and memoranda of General Committees and Offices of the Company. These indexes cover selected volumes from the B and D series, many of which do not have 'internal' indexes of their own. Note that some of the Z-series volumes are actually indexes to copies of minutes which have been lost, and so have page references which are inconsistent with those of their content volumes.;Part of subseries IOR/Z/B/4-45: Indexes 1820-1833. These indexes refer to the earlier volumes in the series known as Minute Books, which were destroyed during the nineteenth century. Taken by themselves, the page references do not tally with the content volumes, but with the aid of the special lists of Court meetings placed at the front of each volume it is possible to establish the date of the meeting to which an index entry applies. The appropriate content volume in the run IOR/B/171-185 can then be used. (IOR/Z/B/6-15 lack the special lists.)
