Letter from R. Wash (secretary to the commission) to George C. Sibley. "Please inform the chiefs of the Big and Little Osages that their differences with the Cherokees have been brought to the attention of the President and he is much pleased with their conduct. Arrangements are being made to mark and run the line of the Osage purchase. Then we will know if the Cherokees are settled on the Osage lands".
