Summary:: Description: Printed narrative of Abel Janney's captivity by Shawnee Indians in 1782. The account describes Janney's capture, atrocities he witnessed against other captives (John Whart, Col. Crawford and his son-in-law John Harrison), Janney's escape, and how the Ottawa Indians led him to safety. This printed edition was published in the Ohio Archaeological & Historical Society Publication, January 1900.
