- Description: Terrestrial globe (97cm circumference). Made of hollowed wood covered with paper. Label on globe: "Cary's New Terrestrial Globe Delineated from the Best Authorities extant: Exhibiting the late Discoveries towards the North Pole, and every improvement in Geography to the present time. London: made and sold by G. & J. Cary, 86 St. James Street, Jan. 1, 1847". Used at the Matilda Davis girls school on the Red River, below Winnipeg. 27.8cm in length, 27cm wide and 45cm in height.
