Summary: Description: Entry book of copies including: the name of the entering printer or bookseller, author (dependant on volume), title of the work and payment for entry (to 1786). Other information that may be included: name of official Licenser, number of copies deposited, share proportions for copyright holders and signature of entering man. No record of certificates being issued from August 1814 onwards. Entry book of copies contains information on the following sorts of works submitted for copyright: published plays and fiction, pamphlets, research guides and printed music.
