Provides advice like, "white petticoats are to be avoided", "I find alpaca delightful wear for walking", and "In choosing books for en route reading, it is advisable to select only such as possess a large, clear print" to save damaging your eyesight. The final section of the guide is a list of useful vocabulary. There are some annotations, for example the advice "If it can be helped, do not engage any valet-de-place who may address you in the streets", has been amended to "never".
