Summary:
Documentary account of the history and effects of nuclear testing, from 1945 up to the Moscow Summit of 1988. Featuring footage of scientists and generals from the Soviet Union and the United States, this film follows the long struggle towards nuclear disarmament. Also includes aerial scenes of Japan, mushroom clouds and tests undertaken by seismologists. Vanessa Redgrave features briefly, discussing the futility of nuclear testing and the effects of radiation upon Pacific islanders.
