Summary
A feature on the 7th Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany opened by Walter Ulbrecht in Berlin in April 1967. Looks at developments in socialist society, particularly how the policies of modernisation, scientific and technological innovation proposed at the 6th Party Congress have been implemented by agricultural and industrial workers throughout the GDR. Includes footage of delegates from socialist states delivering speeches (including Leonid Brezhnev), and of young Vietnamese people arriving to train in factories as part of the Solidarity campaign.
