- In 2006, Blue Shark (Prionace glauca) was designated as Special Concern by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC). The present document provides a summary of current population status and threats to this species in both Canadian waters and across the North Atlantic population. COSEWIC will use this information to aid in its next population status report for blue shark, which is scheduled for 2016.
