- Description: Diary, in six volumes, kept almost throughout the First World War by a regular Yeoman of Signals RN and describing in considerable detail his experiences in the battleship HMS MARLBOROUGH (1st Battle Squadron, Grand Fleet) from May 1916 - November 1918, with good accounts of the Battle of Jutland and the destruction by internal explosion of HMS VANGUARD at Scapa Flow (9 July 1917) and much useful information about the day-to-day routine and deployment of the Grand Fleet and the morale of its officers and men. The document contains a high number of newspaper clippings regarding naval warfare.
