Description: Diary begins 21 September 1915. Describes heavy shelling, and keeping a piece of a shell that hit him as a souvenir. Records his battalions movements in detail, noting each position they pass through and timings. Describes information he has learnt about the Germans, and the fate of friends and acquaintances.
