- The first hymn is Ein schönes Jesus-Lied. The second hymn begins with a plea to the sinner to behold Jesus and to accept Him. Verses five and six are addressed to Jesus and speak of the worshipful author's adoration for the Saviour. The first hymn consists of 9 numbered stanzas of 8 lines each, the second hymn consists of 6 numbered stanzas of 8 lines each.
