- Summary:
- The collection consists of eighty-three items, including plans and drawings. Includes: three floor plans of the original construction, ca. 1955, mounted on cardboard, showing first floor, second floor, and basement plans; six floor plans drawn in 1956 and revised 1959; four plans from the 1973 addition, including a site plan, two first floor plans, and a second floor plan, by JASP; a plan of the music system, with a floor plan and a wiring diagram, dated 1974, drawn by W.F. Pohts; forty-five plans in various sets from 1974-1975, mainly floor plans and site plans.
Also, three items from 1976, including a plan of the proposed portable platform, drawn by JASP, a planting plan of the grounds prepared by P.W.P. for the Office of Physical Plant, and the plan for a bronze plaque to be mounted in the Clifford A. Nelson memorial garden; eight plans, including site elevations and floor plans, undated but circa 1975; three floor plans drawn in 1975, revised in 1989; four preliminary plans for the 1997 additions; and two sets of three plans, undated. - Subject(s):

"Building no. 6." - Administrative History:
- The Helen Eakin Eisenhower Chapel is an all-faith facility supporting the diverse beliefs of Penn State faculty and students. Construction on the original building was begun in 1955, with the cornerstone laid by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Designed by architects Harbeson, Hough, Livingston and Larson, it was constructed of red brick and limestone in a Modified Georgian style.
The Chapel complex includes a Meditation Chapel, a Roman Catholic Meditation Chapel, lounge areas, meeting rooms, and offices, and houses the Office of Religious Affairs. All segments of the building were privately funded through gifts and donations. - Index Note:
